Kate Moss for TopShop

Kate moss has revealed the new Spring 2009 looks for her collabo with TopShop!!!

What a letdown.

A collaboration between Kate and TopShop conjures up images of clothes that are sleek sexy modern euro-trashy and Über glam. One expected her line to be very Cavalli-esque; full of loud colors, bold patterns, and racy cuts.
Girlfriend did not deliver. Instead of Cavalli-esque, we got Kohls-esque. The clothes are dull, and covered in a dull flower motif that has been done to death. Nothing original. We wanted Lanvin meets H+M; we got Free People meets JC Penney.

Not sexy. Not Glam.

The clothes do not even look cute on Kate!!! The over-airbrushed ads could not amp up Kate’s clothes. She may have aged a bit (her hard partying ways are starting to catch up to her face), but she can still make a garbage bag look Haute. Think- if clothes look "so-so" on a supermodel, how are they going to look on a normal person??? However, the garbage bags, er, clothes she “designed” for TopShop could not be saved.

A lot of the clothes are covered in the vintage-rose motif as the dress above. If this dress were "designed" by, say, Jessica Simpson we would like it A LOTTT more. Go on http://www.katemosstopshop.com/ to view the entire collection. A select few of her clothes do have that edgy discotheque vibe we were exptecting.

This outfits not bad, but its not practical either. The hemline is a wee bit short. It looks great on kate though.

Good news for Kate, her clothes WILL SELL OUT. Every wannabe fasionista in the Tri-State area will be wearing her duds religiously. Case in point: the Collabo between Comme de Garcons and H+M was butt fuggly, and it sold out!!! Who knew oversized polka dot pirate shirts were so en vogue???? Color me confused.

So congrats Kate- the rags that someone sewed your name onto will be fashion staples!!! Faux-hipsters rejoice.
